How to change your leverage amount when margin trading

The availability of margin trading services is subject to certain limitations and eligibility criteria.

When opening a spot position on margin on Kraken Pro, you can select the amount of leverage applied to your trade. You'll find the leverage selector next to the Margin toggle at the top of the order form on both the website and the Kraken Pro app.

How to change your leverage amount

On the order form, switch on the Margin toggle. Your current leverage amount is shown next to it (e.g. Margin 10x).

Click (or tap) the leverage amount to open Custom leverage.

Choose your leverage amount using the slider or the – and + buttons, then select Set leverage.

The new amount is shown next to the Margin toggle and applies to your next margin order. It won't change any positions you already have open. The maximum leverage available depends on the margin pair you're trading.
