How to sync your contacts to find friends on Kraken

Kraken allows you to easily find and connect with friends on the platform by syncing your contacts. This article explains how to use this feature and manage your syncing privacy settings.

You can find your friends on Kraken in several ways:

In each of these locations, you'll see an option to sync your contacts. This feature automatically allows others to find you using your phone number or email address. Your contacts will be encrypted and stored securely.

When you sync your contacts, your first and last name will be used as your default display name, which will appear in your contacts’ list of contacts in their apps. You can use your real name or choose something different if you prefer by updating your display name in your Settings under the Pay section.

Contact Sync is automatically switched off by default. If you want to maintain your privacy, no action is required.

By opting into contact sync, you will automatically be discoverable via your email address and/or phone number. If you prefer to maintain your privacy while still having the convenience of sending money to friends, you can:

These options give you control over how others can discover your profile.

Don't worry if you don't see any friends on Kraken yet! You can easily invite your contacts to join with just clicking their contact under “More Contacts”.
